AQHA & PRAB Belgian Championship 2018 Destelbergen

The end of the summer vacation also means: Belgian Championship. On the 25th and 26th of August our team headed to the Llyda Stables in Destelbergen to perform under the watchful eye of judges Stefanie Bubenzer (D) and Barry Schuurman (NL). After the cancelled contest in June our team was more than ready. Coach Sofie also added two new combinations to the competition team: Fabian and Eagle participated both for the first time and Diego showed with Gold (and Stany) that he learned a lot.
Céline and Mila Mila were the first to perform on Saturday. The girls were ready, Surprise not quite. Mila did well on the pattern, but afterwards Surprise called it quits. Céline and Kiwi worked nicely together as a team.

Then it was beginners Kinga en Jasper's turn. Kinga and Gold went for bronze. Jasper and Tucker had a hard time. Ah, that wrong canter!

Diego was surely the cutest. Togeteher with Stany and Gold he did well in the Leadline for Kids. A little cowboy to remeber!

On Sunday, Western Riding Team Les Elfes had a busy day as well. With the newest horse to begin with: little Eagle! Eagle isn't very long under saddle and competed for the very first time. The same for rider Fabian. Eagle had time to get used to the arena on Friday and Saturday. Fabian not so much.

Kinga rode a second Horsemanship pattern on Sunday. Together they won their second medal in this championship: silver!

And then it was time for trail. Coach Sofie had an adventurous idea and paired Mila with her own horse, Qeros. It appeared to be a good guess, because Mila and Qeros went for gold. Céline and Kiwi also rode a nice pattern, but didn't manage to close the gate.

PRAB The Spring Classic Vliermaalroot

The 22nd of april the competition season finally started for our team. Everyone travelled to the PC Stables in Vliermaalroot for the PRAB Spring Classic . Evereyone did their utmost best (some more nervous than others) under the watchful eye of judge Nicolas Perrin (FR). The team took home 5 rosettes, including 2 for first place. Sari and Mila went for it during Pleasure. Pleasure Walk & Jog < 13 y Sari & Mister CC Tucker - 7th place Mila & Surprise - 8th place Céline and Mila faced thunder and heavy rain during their Horsemanship pattern. Demo: we're all champions

It was an early morning on the second of June. We had horses to saddle, patterns to lay out and yes, also fridges to fill. All riders were ready to shine. We showed two western disciplines: horsemanship and trail. Every combination could ride every pattern two times, because the goal was to gain experience. All riders did their very best. And friends and family were happy to cheer them on.  Every rider got a medal and a nice present from our sponsors. Smiling faces everywhere, because we are all champions (or 'paddenstoelen' ;)). Afterwards we enjoyed paninis and drinks at the bar. We talked about our morning and Mila and Sari got to work again and helped to draw the winning numbers of the tombola.  Watch all the pictures Thanks everyone, it was a very special day!
