AQHA & PRAB Belgian Championship 2018 Destelbergen

The end of the summer vacation also means: Belgian Championship. On the 25th and 26th of August our team headed to the Llyda Stables in Destelbergen to perform under the watchful eye of judges Stefanie Bubenzer (D) and Barry Schuurman (NL). After the cancelled contest in June our team was more than ready. Coach Sofie also added two new combinations to the competition team: Fabian and Eagle participated both for the first time and Diego showed with Gold (and Stany) that he learned a lot.
Céline and Mila Mila were the first to perform on Saturday. The girls were ready, Surprise not quite. Mila did well on the pattern, but afterwards Surprise called it quits. Céline and Kiwi worked nicely together as a team.

Then it was beginners Kinga en Jasper's turn. Kinga and Gold went for bronze. Jasper and Tucker had a hard time. Ah, that wrong canter!

Diego was surely the cutest. Togeteher with Stany and Gold he did well in the Leadline for Kids. A little cowboy to remeber!

On Sunday, Western Riding Team Les Elfes had a busy day as well. With the newest horse to begin with: little Eagle! Eagle isn't very long under saddle and competed for the very first time. The same for rider Fabian. Eagle had time to get used to the arena on Friday and Saturday. Fabian not so much.

Kinga rode a second Horsemanship pattern on Sunday. Together they won their second medal in this championship: silver!

And then it was time for trail. Coach Sofie had an adventurous idea and paired Mila with her own horse, Qeros. It appeared to be a good guess, because Mila and Qeros went for gold. Céline and Kiwi also rode a nice pattern, but didn't manage to close the gate.

PRAB The Rawhide Cup Herentals

It was a hot edition of The Rawhide Cup on the 26th and 27th may. The team worked up a sweat at the Rawhide Ranch and not only due to the weather ... Saturday Surprise started with surprising everyone by loping off with Mila and Sari. Luckily the girls stayed put in the saddle. Judge Cédric Leroux encouraged them to keep working. Surprise was back to normal (Mila a bit nervous though) and all the other horses (and riders of course) did good too. Céline took a white rosette home and Sari and Mila rode a nice pattern. AQHA Het Keelven Contest Someren

The 8th of july Sofie and Qeros went back to Het Keelven in Someren (NL). They participated in 'Het Keelven Contest' . Judge Jan Boogaerts took care of the points. Sofie was placed in the categories Green Trail open and Rookie Amateur Ranch Riding. Qeros acted as he always does and did perfect in one ride and did his own thing in the next.
